Name Roles and Challenges for All Internal Auditors:  A Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK)

Roles and Challenges for All Internal Auditors:  A Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK) will define areas that are internal audit knowledge requirements and where internal auditors should develop a good general knowledge of supporting concepts.  This presentation covers such topics as continuous auditing approaches, the upcoming COSO ERM Framework and the importance of ITIL for evaluating internal controls.  It will also include many concepts from Robert Moeller’s book, Brink’s Modern Internal Auditing, which should be of interest to all levels of IIA and ISACA chapter members from the more junior to internal audit managers and CAE’s.  This presentation is built on Robert’s past internal audit work, professional activities and years of research to provide the audience with a unique internal audit CBOK definition that discusses and outlines a series of specific internal audit key knowledge requirements – such as understanding ITIL service management internal controls -- as well as other areas where all IT and internal auditors may want to develop a better general understanding.  Over the past several years, Robert has presented this topic in varying formats to IIA and ISACA chapters across the country.

WCTC's 3rd Annual Cyber Security Summit, in partnership with Marquette University, is designed to answer the call of state leadership to take action to secure our critical infrastructure. Join representatives of government, industry and education as we discuss what must be done to understand and combat threats. Parallel sessions will dive deep into the technical aspects of cyber security, while panel sessions will discuss trends and required actions to build awareness. Given the rising prevalence of social cyber-attacks, there can be no defense without cyber security awareness for business, education, government and the general public.
