August 2012 - President's Message

Dear ISACA® Kettle Moraine members, colleagues, and friends,

With our first event of the 2012-2013 year in just a few weeks, I wanted to give everyone a brief update.

In this issue:

  • Web Site
  • Fall Schedule of Events and Member Survey
  • New and Transferred Members

Web Site

The rework of our web site is almost complete! You’ll notice some minor changes to the format and look, but the overall feel of the site is the same. What is new is the amount of content. All pages were reviewed and updated, but the biggest addition of content is around previous events. We have also added a contact form and refreshed the job board. Some areas of the site are still under construction (namely the Education page), but as you browse the site, please let us know if you find any problems, broken links, etc.

Fall Schedule of Events and Member Survey

We have been working to identify speakers and topics for the fall events, and I am pleased to say that we have speakers for the four fall events. If adjustments are needed due to scheduling changes, we will let you know via this newsletter and via the web site. Below are the dates, speakers, and topics.

  • September 12, 2012 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM - Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Reporting – Dave Palmer – Managing Director KPMG
  • October 10 2012 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM - Lean Security - Josh More – RJS Smart Security
  • November 14 2012 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM - Malware and Underground Markets - Daimon Geopfert – National Leader, Security and Privacy Consulting McGladrey
  • December 12 2012 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM - Data Security Risk Assessment - David Fanson – Director Titus

Our monthly events will continue to be at the BMO Training Institute at 401 N. Executive Dr. in Brookfield.

In the coming weeks, we will send out a survey to gauge interest around other topics. We also would like to determine the level of interest for possible review courses prior to the December certification exams.

New and Transferred Members

Please join me in welcoming the following new and transferred members to our chapter:

  • David Carbajal
  • Srividya Karra
  • Jayashree Raju
  • David Sullivan

In closing, I think we have some great topics and speakers lined up for this fall. Be on the lookout for the member survey and the invitation for the September 12th meeting. I hope to see you all there.

Sincerely,

Matt Johnson, President, ISACA Kettle Moraine Chapter
