      Michael J. Scarbrough, CISA, CRISC, MBA

      Michael J Scarbrough currently works as VP-Senior Audit Manager for the Corporate- Audit Division of BMO (Bank of Montreal) Financial Group, managing data analysis, audit business intelligence and data analysis platforms, and data modeling of controls to test overall effectiveness in mitigating risks.

      Previously, he was VP-IT Senior Audit Manager for Wells Fargo Audit & Security in Phoenix, AZ managing the Data Analysis Support & Technology teams, responsible for implementation of the business intelligence audit methodology, data analysis support, assisting in development of the enterprise-wide Information Management & Data Governance structures, and enterprise risk/control assurance work within Wells Fargo’s internal audit department.

      Michael is a recognized internal audit expert who has presented at numerous conferences regarding audit methodology around business intelligence risks & controls, data modeling & analysis methods for testing 100% effectiveness of business controls, and execution of an integrated audit methodology that consolidates testing of system, financial, operational, and regulatory controls into a single audit/review through the use of combined operational, technology, and accounting resources and data analysis techniques.

      His other experience includes Manager of the IT Audit, Security Administration, & Business Continuity Planning functions at FINOVA, a commercial lending & leasing company, an Audit Officer/Supervisor in the Corporate & Institutional Banking Unit for First National Bank of Chicago (now JP Morgan Chase), a Data Center Manager for Reuters Development and Operations Environment, a Systems Administrator & Data Analyst for AT&T Bell Labs Microelectronics and Speech Recognition Units, and a Parallel Computer Programmer on the EBR-II Nuclear Reactor for Argonne National Laboratory.
